Language Exemptions

Families wishing to apply for an exemption from Irish must complete the following two forms and submit to either, a) the key worker or, b) the year leader.

Irish Exemption – letter to families explaining possible implications, 0055 2022

Irish Exemption – Application for Exemption from the Study of Irish, 0055 2022

Please note, as per Circular 0055/2022, students enrolled in the autism class are exempt from Irish without holding a Certificate of Exemption and therefore do not need to apply.

Families wishing to apply for release from the study of a modern foreign language should contact the key worker or year leader to discuss.

More information in relation to Irish exemption is available on gov.ie/en/service/irish-exemption/.
