A group of Visual Art students from senior cycle visited IMMA in Kilmainham last week. Tour guides from IMMA introduced students to both the permanent collection and a temporary exhibition, both of which included a wide range of painting, sculpture, mixed media work, audio, video and more. Following on from this, the group travelled by Luas to the location of Central Bank of Ireland on North Wall Quay, to see ‘A Double Rainbow’ by artist Eva Rothschild. This is a large outdoor public sculpture which provided lots of curiosity and conversation among students as they examined the colourful, spider like installation.
