On the 23rd of October, Newpark held its second annual Battle of the Bands, organised by the PTA, the Music Department and a group of student volunteers.

The event, which serves as a fundraiser, offers the winners an exciting opportunity to record a session at BIMM. The judging panel consisted of Alan Cullivan of BIMM Music Institute; Danny Snow, bassist for the indie band Villagers; Suzie Shorten of Blackbird Events; Kevin Flaherty of the EMI record label; and actor-singer Phelim Drew.

There was a great buzz in the theatre as several bands took to the stage, including a memorable performance from the staff band ‘Partially Achieved’. After an evening of incredible entertainment Buxtehude 7 were announced as the winners. Congrats to Drew, Tommaso, Reuben and Daniel, and all who were involved in the event!
