Junior Cycle RSE

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Newpark recognises that caring for the health and well-being of its students helps them to create and maintain supportive relationships. SPHE (Social, Personal and Health Education) plays an important role in helping students to develop the skills required to cultivate positive relationships. This term, students will be given the opportunity to participate in a RSE (Relationships and Sexuality Education) programme as part of the SPHE curriculum.

The SPHE team acknowledges that parents and guardians are the primary sources of relationships and sexuality education.  Our aim is to support and build upon what children are taught in the home.

In order to achieve the best outcome for your son/daughter we are including an outline of the aims and content of the RSE programme with this letter.  Please see attached.

If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact either your son/daughter’s SPHE teacher or myself.

Kind regards,

Jenny Crampton

SPHE Coordinator
